Duties and Responsibilities

1.    Receives and processes applications for the registration of companies and business names.
2.    Conducts searches in the business registry and examination of applications, prepare search reports and provide feedback to clients on search requests.
3.    Ensures certification and verification of documents
4.    Captures data of company and business name registration in the system
5.    Prepares correspondences and reports during and after substantive examination, and issuing of certificates.
6.    Reserves names once they have passed the defensive, offensive, desirability tests.
7.    Ensures quality assurance of statutory requirements and issue notices for compliance and enforcement.
8.    Addresses    questions    and    queries    from    interested    persons
9.    Prepare legislative action plan, and review existing laws on company registration for conformity and compliance with statutory requirements
10.  Assesses and collection of non-tax revenue accruing from registrations
11.   Performs any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Senior Registration Officer – Companies

Key Outputs

To implement the day-to-day operations of the Company Registration ensuring that they are in compliance with the statutory requirements and URSB policies and guidelines.

Qualification and Experience

1.    An Honours degree in law, social sciences, IT, BBA, Human Resource Management or related discipline.
2.    Knowledge of relevant legislation relating to registration duties.

Personal Specification

1.    Good interpersonal, analytical, mentoring and communication skills.
2.    Ability to liaise and network with other Government Departments.
3.    Ability to work in a team
