Job Position: ICT Manager
Reports to: Director Engineering and Technology Development
Vacancy: one (1) Position.
Duty station: Nakawa Campus.
Job Purpose:
To plan, organize, direct, control and coordinate the acquisition, development, maintenance and use of computer and telecommunication systems within the Institute which are regularly reviewed to ensure the Institutes needs are met.
Key Duties and Responsibilities.
- Formulating and directing information and communication technology (ICT) strategies, policies and plans.
- Managing the selection and installation of ICT resources and the provision of user training.
- Managing ICT operations and setting priorities between system developments, maintenance and operations
- Overseeing the security of ICT systems
- Developing a software/hardware policy for the institute that guarantees full utilization and maximization of application benefits.
- Developing logical ICT applications, ICT Networks and ICT Infrastructure for essential points or users taking on responsibilities indicated in the presented proposal.
- Participate in the recruitment, Management, appraising, training and development of ICT staff. Preserve assets, ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
Qualifications and Experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven working experience of at least Ten (10) years in ICT operations, Five (5) years as an ICT Manager.
- Certifications in the following fields will be an added advantage; CISSP, CompTIA Network+, MCSE, PMP.
- Excellent working knowledge and hands on experience in computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems.
