SUBJECT DESCRIPTION
JOB PURPOSE The Training Officer shall support the coordination of students’ training activities and programmes in line with the training and institutional needs.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Student Counselling and Career Guidance Support
  • Guide students on the admission requirements, selection of course units, fees policies & deadlines among others.
  • Compile literature & design fliers that provide information on the various programmes conducted by the College & guide students regarding their career choices.
  • Support the department in conducting insurance career initiatives in schools, institutions or bodies were there is potential to attract new students to the College.
  • Participate in developing initiatives that aim at promoting growth in student numbers.

 

       2. Training, Monitoring and Evaluation of                      programmes

  • Assist the Senior Training Officer in the administration and management of online/physical lectures and other learning activities.
  • Support students’ online experience by providing trainings in the use of online systems.
  • Conduct evaluations of the trainings conducted each intake, analyse the data & submit reports to guide future decision making.
  • Participate in market research that contributes to identifying new areas of training & programme development.
  • Organize for workshops or seminars that may be arranged by the department.

 

       3.Development and Maintenance of Training Materials

  • In consultation with the Senior Training Officer, assist in the designing of training materials for the different programmes.
  • Research new technologies and incorporate them in prevailing training materials for proper maintenance, update, and system upgrades to facilitate the training programs.
  • Ensure that the curriculum used is accredited by the National Council for Higher Education.

        4.Administrative Support

  • Provide secretarial support to the Training deparment i.e. draft appointment letters, memos, requisitions, procurements, filing & maintenance of departmental files
  • Assist the Finance department in the collection of students’ fees.
  • Respond to clients queries regarding the College’s programmes in a timely manner.
  • Provide support to the Admissions & Examinations Units when called upon.
REQUIREMENT Minimum Education Qualifications 

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Education or Management or Business related field from a recognized Institution of Higher Learning.
  • An insurance qualification will be of added advantage.

Work Experience

  • At least four (4) years of relevant work experience in a similar position with a reputable organization.
  • Any work experience in a training institution/department will be of added advantage.Required Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
