Summary: The U.S. Mission in Uganda is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Supply Supervisor – Expendables.
The work schedule for this position is:
- Full Time, 40 hours per week
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time following receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.
Supervisory Position: Yes
Duties: The incumbent oversees four (4) Expendable supply clerks and one (1) expendable storekeeper, and is the main person in charge of, and managing of the expendables warehouse. The total value of expendable supplies is $15 million. Incumbent deals with employees of all agencies (U.S. Direct Hires and FSNs) in person, on the phone or via e-mail. Incumbent provides administrative and technical support including monitoring employee’s performance, providing day to day work guidance, and training scheduling, approving leave and writing annual performance appraisals for direct reports. Incumbent serves as an incidental operator of official vehicles and meets all requirements outlined in 14 FAM 433.

Qualifications and Evaluations
EDUCATION: Completion of secondary school education (O and A level), plus a 2-year post-secondary diploma in business management, stores, supplies, procurement, or logistical management is required.
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Two years relevant experience in warehouse related work is required with emphasis on practical hands-on responsibility. One-year supervisory responsibility required in addition to non-supervisor experience.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have good working knowledge of the local market and vendors. Basic knowledge of property and asset management processes including receipt, issuance, disposal and procurement procedures, project and database management.
Evaluations: (This may be tested)
LANGUAGE: English level III (Good working knowledge) Reading/Speaking is required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to lift heavy items. Must have basic typing and computer skills. Must have a good working knowledge of warehouse management including overseeing human resources; receiving and issuing of supplies; storage of goods; control of stock movement; documentation flow; detecting and dealing with stock losses; health and safety; security; quality control; record keeping and reporting; disposal of obsolete and damaged goods; reverse logistics. Be aware of inventory procedure and can assist when clerks are not available. Must have had a valid driver’s license for a minimum of five (5) years.
Qualifications: All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.
