Job Description – Stock Accountant
Position & Grade: Stock Accountant
Reports to: Manager Corporate Planning & Reporting
Summary Role: The Accountant will be responsible for ensuring proper management
of company’s inventory.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Facilitate and participate in monthly and annual stock counts;
2) Perform monthly stock reconciliations of physical counts against system for all
categories of inventory and highlight variances to management;
3) Develop and implement inventory management policies and procedures;
4) Coordinate with warehouse and stores team to implement and ensure a control
system to reduce damage, breakage and inventory obsolescence;
5) Support accurate and timely financial reporting through ensuring all stock data is
updated correctly;
6) Manage the monthly financial close process for all categories of stock;
7) Ensure efficient working capital management through working hand in hand with
supply-chain teams.
8) Review stock holding for all categories of stock on a weekly basis comparing actual
holding with optimum stock and share any exceptions with management for action
9) Raise red flags on identification of loss making activities or processes associated with
inventory management.
10) Conduct awareness on the impacts of activities done by supply chain to the overall
company performance.
11) Carry out spot checks on stock balances in the warehouse and stores as against the
system records to capture any anomalies; and
12) Any other role as will be assigned by your supervisor

a) Working with the entire staff and departments in Movit
b) Maintain good relations with key associates and company external stakeholders
c) Office based and ability to manage urgent demands
d) Ability to meet deadlines and exhibit highest degree of flexibility in terms of working
time
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
a) Bachelor’s’ degree in Accounting, Business Administration or any other relevant field
b) CPA, ACCA or any other relevant professional qualification an added advantage.
c) Analytical and logical abilities, with a high attention to details
d) Minimum relevant experience of 4 years and not more than 8 years
e) Excellent computer skills with advanced excel skills
f) Working knowledge of SAP ERP is preferred
g) Excellent knowledge of accounting procedures and general controls with degree of
compliance
h) High degree of integrity and confidentiality
i) Interpersonal skill-Ability to relate well with other fellow workmates
j) Leadership skills-Ability to move along with all team members in terms activities
execution
k) Communication skills: Ability to pass on proper and efficient work information
l) Ability to work under pressure:
m) Flexibility: Being free and able to handle different tasks as per current need requirement.
