Job summary
The Social Protection Supervisor will support the implementation of the social
protection package across the 5 KCCA Divisions while working closely with the
case management team to support layered service delivery at clinics, schools and
community levels. The social protection package will include a strategic mix of
parenting, education subsidies, community-based youth programming, early
childhood development for HIV exposed infants and their mothers, and other
social protection supports as informed by the family case management plan.
Responsibilities and duties
1. Support curricula-based initiatives aimed at empowering OVC with life skills
and knowledge to prevent HIV and attain decent livelihoods.
2. Lead the implementation of the social protection package in tandem with the
case management and economic strengthening team.
3. Work with the social workers, facility linkages and facilitators to rollout a
layered service delivery approach at community, clinic and school levels.
Work to strengthen linkages between communities, schools and clinics within
an integrated referral network and case management system.
4. Train community cadres such as Sino Facilitators, Early Childhood
Development facilitators and No means No (NMN) instructors to deliver
appropriate social protection curricula and interventions to the target
beneficiaries.
5. Train, mentor and support field staff in the implementation of all social
protection activities for adolescent girls and young women, OVC and children
and adolescents living with HIV.
6. Support the identification of Sexual Related Gender Based Violence cases and
give appropriate responses; Support implementation of Gender Based Violence and gender norms change activities for adolescents and caregivers of
OVC and Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW).
7. Implement monthly and quarterly work plans and budgets for social protection
field activities; Liaise with the M&E team in tracking and reporting related
social protection activity targets.
8. Compile quarterly and monthly reports, stories of change and other strategic
social protection documentation as needed.
9. Support and observe the safeguarding culture of ROM, regularly documenting
and reporting identified and potential safeguarding issues; Ensuring health,
safety, and security in your area of operation, as you promote the vision,
mission and the values of Reach Out Mbuya.
10. Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Social
Administration, Social Sciences and any relevant degree plus proven
experience in children social protection preferably under PEPFAR/USAID
programming
• Experience in stakeholder engagement, excellent interpersonal and
communication skills and computer literate.
• Ability to communicate in local languages an added advantage.
