POSITION: Regional Commercial Supervisor (4 positions)

JOB SUMMARY
The Regional Commercial Supervisor is responsible for the overall management of the
hubs, planning, implementing and tracking of sales at the hubs and of the Agro dealers
and Master Agents (MAs); sourcing and buying of grain in and out of season as well as
making sure that retailers and farms have all the agro inputs they require from
Grainpulse. The job-holder is responsible for all the designated district’s targets and
plans, that the product sold is at a margin and also the product sourced is sourced at a
good price.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage performance of Village Agents to achieve own performance targets
Monthly achievement of set targets for both Inputs and Grain
Management of all Master Agents (MAs)in his/her districts
Development of Village Agent model to make sure all Village Agents (VAs) are
trained and are pushing both inputs and sourcing grain at the end of the season
Monitoring VAs KPIs to ensure farmers profiled are buying Inputs and also
selling back grain at the end of the season
Managing and tracking all major commercial farms in the districts to ensure GPL
services are offered to the farms and that Grainpulse can also source from those
farms
Managing and ensuring all Agro dealers in the district stock and have GPL
product available in their shops
Promote brand visibility as well as availability of GPL products and services
Ensure the HUB is fully branded, well maintained and fully functional at all times
Visibility and availability of all GPL products and services in all channels of
distribution
Drive awareness through the right channels in the districts
Have Demos in strategic areas of the districts and ensure they are well maintained and labeled at all times
Expand and manage customer base to include but not limited to
Master Agents
Agro Dealers
Agro Retailers
Commercial farmers
Village Agents
Identify Business Development opportunities
Understanding your competition at the customers and coming up with strategies to win
How you can work with all partners to identify business opportunity for GPL
Identifying new product lines, the customers need and analyzing their potential for all the districts
Identifying New channels that the business can start focusing on Participate and plan Agricultural Events
Manage the annual Agricultural calendar and the events the business needs to participate in, in your particular districts
Have a game plan for marketing activities for the districts and ensuring budgets are signed off before the beginning of the season.
Manage stakeholders to ensure there is buy in for the events
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelors in a Business-related discipline; however, possession of a Certificate in Agriculture will be an added advantage. He or she must possess more than 5 (five) years work experience in sales, however, 1 (one) working experience year in related field will be an added advantage as well as have experience in driving a manually transmitted vehicle and with a valid driver’s permit.
The ideal candidate must have a strong sales background, be knowledgeable on Relationship and Customer management as well as Ugandan local languages and a good
command of English. He or she must possess interpersonal, communication, planning,
decision making, problem solving, negotiation as well as selling skills.
The job will require 90% of the time in the field and will involve extensive driving throughout the designated district of operation.
