Job Title: Office Attendant

Reports to: Administrative Assistant 

Hours of Work: Full time

Location: West Nile 

Engagement Terms: 1 year Contract Renewable upon Performance and availability of resources

 

Overall Purpose/Broad Function:

Based in one of the Project Districts in West Nile, the main role is to ensure that the agency offices, compound, garden, toilets, pit latrines, rails, and stairs are kept in a clean and orderly condition.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide a high quality cleaning service that includes tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, emptying bins, and polishing surfaces, offices and corridors. 

  1. Slashing, raking and clearing of grass trimmings.
  2. Hedge trimming and removing slit from drainage channels.
  3. Potted plants and flowers, pruning and watering.
  4. Digging around the building and maintaining gardens.
  5. Sweeping, mopping all floors, cleaning windows, and removing cob webs.
  6. Dusting, polishing all surfaces including equipments and arranging furniture.
  7. Emptying waste bins.
  8. Cleaning blind and wash rooms.
  9. Washing office curtains and clothing 
  10. Continuous picking of litter and cleaning parking yard and areas outside the perimeter wall.
  11. Report any area that requires repair to supervise.
  12. Perform other duties as may be assigned
  13. Clean toilets.
  14. Wipe all surfaces.
  15. Clean sink, tap, draining board and basins.
  16. Clean stairs i.e. brush and mop the stairs and stairways.
  17. Notify administration when materials are running low so that they can be ordered centrally.
  18. Clean the rails on a daily basis.
  19. Remove cob webs from all corners.
  20. Wash curtains.
  21. To do thorough general cleaning of the THETA premises once every month preferably Saturdays.

Job Experience and Specifications

  1. Previous experience of cleaning including the use of chemicals and using cleaning machines safely
  2. Demonstrated reliability
  3. Ability to communicate competently and understand instructions in English and in common local language/s.
  4. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  5. Ability to understand and adhere to company security policies is key and will be assessed
