KP/Gender Prevention Officer

Job Summary

Support and Monitor the implementation of HIV prevention, diagnosis, care and treatment for key and priority populations and integration of the continuum of response between GBV prevention and clinical post-violence response services into the HIV cascade at key points, including HIV prevention interventions, testing, care and treatment, PMTCT and ANC services. S/he will oversee the implementation of services for KP/PP and gender integration in supported districts and health facilities.

Overall Responsibilities
  1. Developcluster quarterly work plans with evidence-based approaches to reach KPs and PPs with HIV prevention services and integration
  2. Develop strategies for integration of human rights standards or principles and gender mainstreaming perspectives in HIV programs.
  3. Mentor and  provide  technical  assistance  to  healthcare  providers,  KP/PP  peer leaders and/or KP/PP community networks and  KP-Led CSOs on the delivery of layered service packages to KPs and PPs.
  4. Advocate and actively engage men and boys as key stakeholders and agents in promoting male involvement in healthcare, gender equality and ending gender             based violence against women and girls
  5. Collaborate  with   district   and   health   facility   HIV   focal   persons   to   monitor implementation and delivery of quality KP/PP friendly services as per set standards.
  6. Supporthealth facilities and communities to provide targeted, safe, and high-quality HIV  testing  services  including  index  client  testing  services  (assisted  partner notification, testing of biological children and social network strategy testing) to KPs and PPs.
  7. Supportroutine data capture for KP/PP services and ensure timely update of the KP tracker
  8. Work with  Medical  logistics  team  to  oversee  effective  forecast,  timely  ordering, reporting, and accounting for HIV prevention logistics/commodities Participate in identification, implementation, and documentation of continuous quality improvement activities for the KP and gender program.
  9.  Periodically review and monitor performance against set targets, prepare periodic reports and evoke timely corrective action.
  10. Strengthen  collaborative  partnerships  with  Health  facilities,  Community  Based Organizations and other stakeholders.
  11. Carry out operational research on the areas of KP/Gender to guide and provide lessons to improve  performance then document best work  practices in HFs and promote   knowledge   sharing   through   CMEs   on   areas   of   KP/Gender   new developments and changes in line with Baylor-Uganda research guidelines.
Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies:
  • · Diploma in Nursing, clinical medicine; Degree in humanities, social work or other related fields and must be registered with relevant professional body.· 3 years of related work experience in technical assistance support to districts and Health system strengthening (HSS).
  • · Must have solid practical skills in implementation of HTS, eMTCT, EID, HIV Care, ART , structural and other prevention programs for key and priority populations.
  • 3 Years Relevant Experience
