dfcu Bank is a fast-growing Bank in Uganda offering a wide range of financial solutions to its chosen market segments. We are seeking to recruit for the position of Insurance Operations Officer- Credit.
LOCATION: Kampala
REPORTING TO: Manager- Insurance Operations
JOB PURPOSE: Reporting to the Manager- Insurance Operations, the role holder will implement insurance credit controls and manage premium commissions on credit insurance.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Place insurance cover to avoid discrepancies.
- Check and confirm that insurance premium has been collected and remitted to the insurer accordingly to obtain undisputed income.
- Monitoring and Renewal of Expired Policies to manage risks.
- Reconciliation of Outstanding Premiums with Insurers to manage credit.
- Collection and Remittance of Premiums to ease collection of income.
- Process Refunds of Un-Utilized Premiums to manage risks.
- Processing Insurance claims to close out outstanding claims.
- Comply with the Insurance Act and Regulations, as well as dfcu Bank policies and Controls to mitigate risks.
- Prepare and submit the requisite regulatory reports to manage any audit outcomes.
- Reconcile with insurers to ensure Bank insurance commission revenue is accounted for and collected.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a Finance related field.
- COP / CIU certificate is an added advantage.
- At least 3 years working experience in Insurance / Banking in related field.
- High level of integrity and ethical standards.
- Attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and ability to demonstrate high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, communications and independent judgement skills.
- Good organisation skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
