BACKGROUND:

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an International independent medical humanitarian organization that delivers aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters, and exclusion from health care. MSF offers assistance to people based on need irrespective of race, religion, gender, or political affiliation.

MSF is looking to recruit a suitable candidate for the position below;

Job: Information and Communication Technology (I.C.T) Intern
Duty station : Kampala
Start of work: November 2022

The I.C.T Officer Intern will be working with and under the supervision of the Mission Technical ICT Referent

And the main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
– Assisting in the installations of wired and/or wireless networks were needed as well as set up office equipment like printers, video conference systems, Smart phones, and CCTV Cameras among others
– Assisting the deployment of Windows 10, and Office 365 among other software on office laptops
– Carry out assigned periodic preventive maintenance tasks on the ICT equipment.
– Provide support in updating ICT Documentation like Network maps, Asset inventories, and User “How to” Procedures among others
– Assist in the support given to users to solve their ICT-related problems.
– Assist in the testing and setup of VHF/HF/Satellite Communication devices
– Follow up with ICT suppliers on products or services like Internet Installations, Printer/laptop repairs, and Communication issues among others
– Generate Monthly reports on ICT activities

Education: Diploma in Information and Communications Technology or equivalent
Experience: Fresh University Graduate.
Competences/ Skills: Team worker, Proactive, Flexible, Good written and Verbal communication, able to work With multicultural people.
Language: English is mandatory, and French is a strong asset.
