Restless Development is a global non-profit agency. We support the collective power of young leaders to create a better world. We are independently registered and governed in nine countries (India, Nepal, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda, UK, USA, Zambia and Zimbabwe) bound together by our vision for youth power. About the role
A Communications Intern is responsible for assisting in various aspects of internal and external communication strategies to enhance an organization’s brand image, engage stakeholders, and convey key messages effectively. This role offers valuable hands-on experience for individuals aspiring to pursue a career in communications, marketing, or public relations.
Key responsibilities:
Digital and Social Media Expertise(50%)
- Social media handling and management.
- Conceptualising and executing media campaigns to celebrate/ commemorate key dates like the 16 days of activism, World AIDS Day, World Volunteer Day, World Human Rights day etc.
Content Creation (40%):
- Photography and video editing skills
- Story gathering and story telling to highlight program impact and hub strategic visibility.
- Graphics design
- Writing skills
- Good communication skills
Community Engagement and Mobilization (5%)
- Interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Organise and coordinate National Youth working Group meetings.
- Assist in planning and execution of the hub’s strategy launch.
Other duties as required (5%)
- Other duties as required. Occasionally working on weekends, late night in case of volunteer incidents and holidays for which time off in lieu can be taken

Skills and experience
Essential
- A relevant diploma or a degree program (Communications, journalism, business administration and nonprofit management).
- Ideal Candidate should not be above 26 years.
Desirable
- Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
- Photography and video editing skills
- Graphic design skills (proficiency in Canva)
- Writing skills
- Interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Event planning skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, manage tasks efficiently, and meet deadlines.
- Enthusiasm for learning and a keen interest in Strategic communications, grant writing, business development, and nonprofit management.
