Location: – Kasese, with frequent travel in the GVL and occasionally to Kampala Office
Reporting: Energy Climate and Extractives Coordinator with a dotted line to the Greater Virunga Landscape Coordinator
Job Summary
The Project Manager will coordinate implementation of this new project in Uganda Country Office, specifically, the Greater Virunga Landscape in Uganda. The project will be implemented over a 3-year period with an initial inception period of 3 months. The Project Manager’s primary role includes general technical, programmatic, administrative and communications oversight. The successful candidate will be based in the WWF Office in Kasese, but with frequent travel to the country office in Kampala and project sites in Bwindi, Queen Elizabeth and Rwenzori regions. The project Manager will supervise two officers (Social and Gender Officer and Monitoring and Evaluation Officer) and will work closely with the project teams in Uganda Country Office, WWF Africa Regional Office, WWF Africa Adaptation Hub and IISD’s global team and Local implementing partners. The Project Manager will also be responsible for delivery of project outputs and outcomes to be implemented by sub-grantees. The candidate should be a highly motivated self-starter, with good organizational and stakeholder engagement skills, and a genuine interest in working for a sustainable future.
