Paddy ‘the Grader Guy’ Has Been Hired

Last week, social media was awash with pictures and video snippets of a gentleman who drove a grader to Hima Cement offices for a job interview.

Subsequently, individuals voiced their takes on the matter with many asking Hima Cement officials to consider ‘the grader guy’, later identified as Paddy Kitandwe, for the job.

After the long wait, Hima Cement company proprietors announced today that they have hired Mr. Kitandwe.

“We love Paddy and appreciate his effort but driving a grader was definitely not fit for purpose. That said, we could not think of a better person to help us launch our new Fundi Masonry Cement that we believe is fit for purpose,” Hima Cement officials said on their social media.

According to his Twitter account, Paddy had been out of work since the pandemic broke out and he decided to do as many available jobs as possible including working at a construction site from where he got the call for an interview and thus the grader saga..

“I got a job interview call from Hima Cement and I realised I would have been late if I first went home to change. So I grabbed my suit and papers and drove the grader from work and went for my interview with it,” Paddy said after the video made rounds on social media.
