Job Purpose:

The post-holder will be working on a full economic evaluation of an intervention aimed at
reducing neonatal mortality in Uganda (OMWaNA: Operationalizing kangaroo Mother care
before stabilization amongst low birth Weight Neonates in Africa). The intervention is
evaluated through a multi-site randomized controlled trial: an intervention arm is allocated to receive KMC and a control arm is allocated to receive ‘standard’ care.

The post-holder will support data collection (facility and household surveys), data analysis
using Excel and STATA, and paper writing for the cost-effectiveness, budget impact,
wellbeing and equity analysis of KMC.

The post-holder will be a key member of a multi-disciplinary team of researchers within
Uganda, the UK and internationally, and will work closely with colleagues at Makerere
University – School of Public Health and at the Centre for Health Economics in London at the LSHTM.
