Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering; or Mechanical Engineering; or Civil Engineering from a recognized University / Institution.
Working Experience
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Senior Industrial Officer for performing the following duties:-
– Participating in formulation of national and sub-sector industrial policies and their implementation strategies;
– Participating in the department inputs to the formulation of the Ministry BFP and Policy Statement and thereafter manage the section budget;
– Supervising engineering aspects of newly and existing government supported/funded industrial projects;
– Participating in the development and transformation of the informal sector (Jua Kali) and indigenous technology;
– Supervising, coaching and developing subordinates under his/her section;
– Liaising with relevant institutions in promoting industrial research, business incubation and development of new technologies, upgrading and strengthening of existing indigenous technologies and skills;
– Liaising with relevant institutions and other Government agencies in advancement of Environmental Management Systems, enforcement of Occupational Health and Safety and monitoring pollution and waste disposal from industries;
– Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
