Want to work abroad? Here are 7 tips you need to consider
- The company taking you must be registered and approved by the Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development. Ask for it’s name and license number and verify it on the following websites https://eeimis.mglsd.go.ug and https://uaera.org,
- Ensure that you have a contract of employment before you travel.
- Ensure you have a work visa and NOT a visit or tourist visa.
- Avoid being recruited and taken to work abroad by individuals and also ensure that you get a receipt for all the money you pay.
- Avoid being recruited by the tour and travel companies or agents.
- Check for the availability of the job you are being recruited for abroad with clear terms and conditions on the following websitel portal https://eelmis.mglsd.go.ug,
- Know the location and contacts of the Uganda Embassy in the country
you are going to work.
