Experience and Other requirements:
- Membership to the Uganda Statistical Society is a must.
Membership to the International Statistical Institute will also be an added advantage
- Ability to communicate Statistics
- Advanced skills in report writing and presentation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- High ethics and integrity, results oriented, self-motivated, creative, dependable, flexible and co-operative
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, and standards
- Self-drive, resilience and strong attention to detail and highly organized
- Ability to keep pace with and learn new technologies
Qualifications:
- An honours Degree in Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Population Studies or Economics with Statistics.
- Post graduate qualification in Statistics, Population Studies or Quantitative Economics will be an added advantage
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Produce Social and Economic Statistics including rebasing of specific economic series as applicable
- Compile Price, Value, and Volume Indices as applicable
- Participate in the conduct of social and economic surveys
- Develop meta data and document processes and procedures used in production of quality statistics
- Support development of Administrative data on subject specific areas working with the DSCS
- Undertake data analysis, editing, report writing, and participate in dissemination of Statistics
- Prepare statistical indicators for backing up and provide statistical data and information for updating the UBOS website and UBOS App.
- Undertake administration of the Unit including: performance appraisal, on-job training & mentoring of Statisticians, development of budgets and work plans
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned
